Athens – Macedonian News Agency

The Athens News Agency – Macedonian Press Agency (ANA-MPA) has a presence in the media sector that extends for more than a century.

The Athens News Agency (ANA) was founded on Jan. 1, 1905, when the privately owned Stefanopoli Telegraphic Agency was bought by the Greek state. Its first director was Ioannis Parren.

ANA merged with Macedonian Press Agency (MPA) in 2008 and subsequently formed the Athens Macedonian News Agency (AMNA). Until then, the MPA, founded in 1991, had its central offices in Thessaloniki.

The ANA-MPA produces, collects, edits and disseminates domestic and international news items and photographs, as well as radio and television material for distribution to media outlets in Greece, Cyprus, numerous third countries and the Greek diaspora.

The news agency?s information network features news desks in Brussels, Istanbul, Nicosia and Berlin, as well as correspondents in London, Vienna, Rome, Paris, Skopje, Washington, New York, Melbourne, Montreal, Tirana, Sofia, Ankara, Belgrade and all major Greek cities.

International and national news agencies like, Reuters, AP, AFP, DPA, EFE, ANSA and global information companies including Factiva, Bloomberg, Financial Times, etc. use ANA-MPA news items utilising the agency?s services on a daily basis.
