Prof. Reinhold Haeb-Umbach holds a Dipl.-Ing. and Dr.-Ing. degree from RWTH Aachen University, Germany. After a Postdoctoral position at IBM Almaden Research Laboratories, San Jose, CA, he was with Philips Research, Aachen and Eindhoven, for more than 10 years. Since 2001 he is Professor of Communications Engineering at Paderborn University, Germany. His research interests are in robust speech recognition, speech enhancement and unsupervised learning from speech. He has more than 200 publications in peer-reviewed journals and conferences, and he is co-author of the books “Robust Speech Recognition of Uncertain and Missing Data” (Springer, 2011) and “Robust Automatic Speech Recognition – a Bridge to Practical Applications” (Academic Press, 2016). He is a fellow of the International Speech Communication Association (ISCA).
